Zubori Takes Over

The Points

After losing the second set 7-6, Zubori and Hanisch come out firing in the third set to take a 3-1 lead. It's a close battle, but a flashy, between-the-legs shot by Zubori followed by a hammer forehand seems to be her assertion that she's in control and unfazed by the moment.

They go on to lose the point, but Zubori's comfort and confidence is starting to dominate and drive the outcome of the match. Serving with the ad, she chases down a ball and finishes with a cut overhead to go up 4-1.

On the first point of the next game, Zubori shows patience before pouncing on a short volley:

She then hammers the next return for a winner:

They go up 5-1 and the flash really starts to come out:

But Delmonico and Gebbia stem the tide and battle to take the game to go to 5-2.

Unfortunately, it's short-lived and serving at 2-5, the match starts to slip away:

Overall, tough match in the rain, but Zubori and Hanisch ran away with it on the back of Zubori's aggressive style.
